HAZARDOUS CARGO

The transport of dangerous or hazardous cargo requires special treatment and is not to be undertaken lightly.
This is especially true for air transport. Strict rules and procedures exist to ensure cargos are transported intelligently in order to minimise the risks associated with the nature of the cargo.

Aircraft charter plays an important role in the transport of these types of goods and our knowledge of its execution is second to none on the market.

Contrary to common belief it is possible to transport almost any item by air; whether explosives, radioactive matter, chemicals, fire works, nuclear material or any other regulated goods.
These items may be considered as ‘IATA forbidden cargo’.
In this case they may still be transported by air albeit with special dispensation and on occasions specific diplomatic over flight clearances.

For IATA forbidden cargo the rules are even more stringent and special attention must be made not only to packing and cargo conditioning but also to obtaining all permissions for landing and for over flying sovereign states.
Depending on the countries involved, many of these permissions may only be obtained through diplomatic channels.
